Transition of NICS from R&D to an Operational Platform

Attention: This is an official notice that the research and development phase of the NICS project (Next-Generation Incident Command System) hosted at the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) has been completed and will be transitioned to an operational platform.

The NICS application on the SDSC server will be de-activated on 31 March 2017.

To guarantee uninterrupted access to NICS as this transition occurs, it is extremely important that you contact the official NICS Technology Transition Partner to establish a new user account and access. The organization that DHS S&T has selected to manage this transition is the Worldwide Incident Command Systems Corporation (WICS), a California Nonprofit Public Benefit organization (501(c)(3)). For additional information and access to the latest version of NICS running on the Amazon (AWS) cloud, see
